Krista Hord: Yet another Valdictorian in the family…. Last year Erica her sister was the Valdictorian and now Krista is this year, back to back. I wonder if that’s ever been done before? Krista came in recently for her senior portraits and her mother brought along with her a portrait that we create for them at Easter 1993. Krista at age 4, the image was created (br) before Ricky. I had to share the portrait with you. Krista is the youngest one on the floor. Megan and Natalie, the twins will be graduating in May from Villanova. Erica is attending the University of Miami. Krista has selected Clemson. The awards just keep coming. Krista was recently named All State academic/athletic team. I know that Michelle and Ricky are proud of their children. Many times we forget those cute things that they said or did. As Michelle Hord looks back at that portrait of her four beautiful little girls in their Easter dresses, I’m sure it brought back many pleasant memories. And ask yourself, where does time go? How much do you think this portrait has appreciated? Fine quality portraits truly appreciate as time goes flying by. Mrs. Hord understands the value of family/Children/Senior portraits.
We took the family to Daytona Beach for a few days just before Easter. Our girls are already 8 and 10-years of age. And it seemed like yesterday when they were toddlers. Many times Ally has asked me on several occasions to tell her a story of when she was younger. At times I have difficulty remembering things that I thought I would never forget--is it an age thing??? What helps me bring back those stories is reviewing her baby album. As I flip through the images, many stories come to mind--which brings me back to the beach. While at the beach one evening, Ally said “let’s take a walk on the beach Dad”, it was just before sunset. I thought cool--how much longer is she going to want to be seen with her old man? I had so many feelings rushing through my head as we walked down the beach that evening, feelings that I’ve never had before children. As we walked, Ally took my hand!I found myself wanting to stop time and not let it end. We walked and talked for about an hour and once we got back to the resort she turned to me and said, “Thanks Dad, I had fun let’s do that again! Unfortunately, the weather did not permit it. A rare cold front came through and was extremely windy. Just like that, it was a memory that will fade in time. I wanted to recreate that image so badly, so we re-created the walk and captured it so I can enjoy that walk for the rest of my life. I have the perfect place to display the portrait at home. Emmy, who at first didn’t want anything to do with the photo session, decided to jump in. Emmy is part monkey so it’s not surprising to me she wanted on my back. It will forever remind me our time together and for a moment I was able to freeze and stop time with my camera. Actually, Kathy took it--not bad for a hygienist… Many of us go through times like these and don’t give them a second thought. Each day you are making lifetime memories for your children. Is there ever a perfect time? NO! Everyone is busy which I understand and it is my belief that people have good intentions to some day getting around to have their family portrait created! As the song sings “Cat’s and the cradle and the silver spoon, little boy blue and the man in the moon, when you come home son I don’t know when, but we’ll get together then Dad you know we’ll have a good time then.” It just occurred to me he’s grown up just like me.”
Meet the Brinson Law Firm: Every image tells a story--Ed and Haines Brinson, father and son in the old courthouse. Mr. Brinson (Ed) is 84-years young and still practices law, plays golf, and walks every evening. Haines, his son, has now joined the firm. What’s interesting is the stories that Mr. Brinson told while we were at the beautiful courthouse. One story he reminisced with me was the court had to stop while the trucks on the highway passed because the windows were open and before AC. The courthouse was built in the 1890’s. Both were sworn in the month of September--30-years apart.

Amanda Muniz! Sweet sixteen portrait! I believe that every image tells a story. Amanda turned sixteen and she was in this beautiful formal pink gown. Amanda brought with her, her favorite shoes that she wears everyday! Converse--those tennis shoes were popular back in my day. I wanted to show both sides of Amanda so we had her sit on the top back of the chair just so we could show the shoes. Love her relaxed expression which is the same image that M/M Muniz has on display at their home. Congrats Amanda.
Meet Brittney Speckman! She is a Senior at Celebration High School. People often ask do I have to go to our yearbook contract photographer and the answer is yes, but only for the yearbook picture! You don’t have to purchase anything. Just select the image you want for the yearbook and that’s it for the yearbook obligations! You do, in fact, have a choice. Can you believe it in this day in age that you can be told you don’t have a choice? Can’t is not in my vocabulary! One of our unique factors are we take the time to get to know you first! Our number one goal is to capture your personality, hobbies, and interest at this stage of your life and you can’t do that at the school when you are one of many people getting photographed that same day with the same old props and feather boa.Brittney is truly unique. She is not only pretty and very athletic playing in volleyball, track, softball, and golf. She placed 3rd in state on the girls wrestling team! Her favorite music is Country, favorite restaurant is Joe’s Crab Shack, or the pizza place at Disney Board walk. Favorite movie is Pirates of the Caribbean. She likes the outside so we spent a good part of her session outdoors. She told me about an image she saw in our slide show and she wanted to do something similar too. So we did. I think it turned out well with Brittney in natural looking poses and expressions.
